CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Renters in the Charlotte metro aren’t likely to catch a break on rates in September.

That’s according to three separate national sources, which show local rents this month are higher — in varying degrees — when compared to a year ago.

One of those, the latest report from ApartmentData.com, puts the area’s rental rate growth over the past year at 6.6%, with an effective monthly price of $1,194, or $1.25 per square foot, which spans one-, two- and three-bedroom units. The data indicates that 7,215 units were absorbed during that same 12-month time frame.
